From May 26th to June 11th, 2023.
Atelier D’arte – Corso Matteotti, 9 Ponsacco
I don’t personally know Ouafa, but I will soon because on May 26th, she will be presenting a solo exhibition at the “Atelier d’art” Gallery by David Brogi. I will have the pleasure of getting to know her there and sharing thoughts, ideas, artistic journeys, and capturing the lyricism in her works.
I have seen around thirty of her works, and it is my opinion that the exhibition can be divided into two paths: one more prominently figurative and the other slightly more abstract.
In the first one, she explores figures that belong to her places of origin, female faces with distinct features yet profound sweetness, figures interpreted beyond reality. The background of her works tackles a polychromy that allows us to understand her grasp of color foundations, making it assume the same importance as the foreground figures. In the second one, while figurative elements are still present, it leaves more room for a whirlwind of broad, liberating color fields with deeply sensitive artistic interventions.
In both cases, the surfaces are filled with an abundance of painterly intensity, characterized by an interplay of brushstrokes, confident palette knife strokes, and drawing, where figures and colors merge into vibrant chromatic abstractions.
I suggest to the viewers to engage in an inner process of appropriation of Ouafa’s works, to make their sentiments and spirit their own, so that it becomes a unique and unrepeatable experience. Her artistic heritage manifests an inner strength in a language that represents emotions and moods.
FRANCO BENVENUTIThe vernissage on Saturday, May 26, for Ouafa Bouabdelli’s Solo Exhibition at Atelier d’Art was a memorable success, lasting until June 11.
Through her artworks, the artist allows us to relive not only the colors but also the scents of her homeland, Morocco.
A special thanks to all the attendees, and in particular to artist Franco Benvenuti, who collaborated with David Brogi in organizing the exhibition.
We look forward to welcoming you every day, from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm, excluding Mondays and June 2nd, at Atelier d’Art.
It was a pleasure to have Agnese Moro as our guest during the opening of Ouafa Bouabdelli’s Solo Exhibition on May 26th.
The Italian journalist, daughter of Aldo Moro, visited Atelier d’Art for the presentation of her latest book, “Un Uomo Così. Ricordando mio padre” (A Man Like That. Remembering my Father), organized by Don Armando Zappolini, the director of the diocesan Caritas.
